The old mortuary, she said, is coming down. Once the debris has been removed the area will become a pocket park.

The city is working to get a grant to help create an alleyway to the back parking lot through this park.

She also received a letter from the University of Arkansas School of Architecture entering an agreement to bring a professor and two students to Prescott this fall.

This group will work to help create an overall concept for downtown Prescott, she said, as well as helping find a location for the new library.

At this time, host families are needed to help house the professor and students. They will also need a building in the downtown area to work out of.
