Society Meets

The American Cancer Society (ACS) with Phyllis Stewart, president, presiding met Thursday, January 18, at First United Methodist Chruch and heard reports on services and programs for Nevada County. Ginger Dempsey of Hot Springs was introduced as new area director.

Joan Barton, patient service chairman, reported that she has served one patient with a wig and is providing local clinics and pharmacies with services available through ACS. Plans are to make more information available through literature handouts. Call Joan at 887-5353 for more information for individuals or clubs.

Heidi Duncan is available for golf passes, a $30 pass which allows playing on 70 golf courses.

Patsy Womble is making plans for the annual production of Hee-Haw, using local talent in the musical show. Chad Cornelius and Joan Barton are in charge of ticket sales.
