Membership Drive Feb. 1Published Wednesday, January 31, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesThe South Clark County Junior Chamber of Commerce is starting its annual membership and sponsorship drives starting February 1. Everyone is encouraged to contribute to this worthy cause. In the past the Jaycees have been active in the community, with its members giving their time and energy to do projects that would impact the community in a positive way. The local chapter this past Christmas provided for 53 needy children through its Toys for Tots and Angel Tree program, the Spring Fest, the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition and other projects. The Jaycees' intentions are to improve the lives of those involved through leadership training through community involvement as well as other ways. You may help the Jaycees by becoming a member. With your membership they can provide recreational areas for the very young and very old through programs placed in action in the community. Your continued help of the Jaycees in South Clark County is appreciated, according to Kenneth Harper, president of the local organization. Ownership of all Nevada County Picayune content from the beginning of the newspaper, including predecessors, until May 2001 was contributed by the John and Betty Ragsdale family to the Prescott Community Freenet Association.
