John G. BentonPublished Wednesday, January 31, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneJohn G. Benton, 85, of Temple, Texas, formerly of Nevada County, died Monday, January 22, 1996, in Temple. Born January 23, 1911, in Ouachita County he was a former employee of Ford Motor Company at Texarkana, Beaumont and Temple, Texas. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Temple. Survivors include his wife, Charlene White Benton of Temple; two brothers, Davis Benton of Cale and Lowell Benton of Oventon, Ky.; five sisters, Emily Benton of Prescott, Pauline Hairston and Virignia Broyles of Houston, Texas, Mary Sporer of Rudiiso, N.M., and Linda Riley of Kansas. Services were held Thursday, January 25, at Temple. Burial was in Bellwood Cemetery at Temple under the direction of Shefield Funeral Home of Temple.
