Youth Killed Saturday In AccidentPublished Wednesday, January 31, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneAn 18-year-old Prescott youth was killed in a one-vehicle accident Saturday night. According to reports from the Arkansas State Police, Richard Joe Burke, 18, of Prescott, and Shon Michael Hastings, 22, also of Prescott, were traveling east on Highway 371 when the 1995 Ford pickup they were in failed to negotiate a curve, about a mile and a half east of Blevins. The vehicle left the highway, crossed it again and overturned. Hastings and Burke were ejected from the truck at this point. Hastings was transported to Medical Park Hospital in Hope, while Burke's body is at Shackelford Funeral Home. The accident was investigated by ASP Cpl. Keith Sullivan.
