PHS Cheerleaders Attend Camp AT UALR

The Prescott High School cheerleaders attended the National Cheerleaders Association Cheerleader Camp at the UALR campus in Little Rock June 26-29.

While attending the four-day camp, the cheerleading squad received all superior ribbons for evaluations held each day.

The squad also received an NCA Stunt Smart Award, an NCA Jump Award, an NCA Motion Award, the NCA Spirit Stick and the NCA Herkie Team Award.

Prescott's squad was selected as a finalist for the home cheer competition and the top team championship. The students also received the extreme honor of receiving an NCA bid to the National High School Cheerleader Championships held in Dallas, Texas, December 27-30.

The squad had four cheerleaders named to the NCA All-American squad. The girls receiving this honor were Laura Beth Williams, Traci Graham, Britnie McCauley and Megan Reeder. Angela McGough also received the honor of being nominated for the All-American team. Williams was a finalist in the top gun competition.

Senior members of the squad are Williams, who is captain, Amanda Crow, co-captain, Graham, Crystal Moss and Kristen Teague. Junior squad members are McCauley, McGough and Abbie Morman. The sophomore members are Reeder, Lauren Guthrie, Lizabeth Wilson and Christy Wyman.
