Buelow Seeks Representative Spot

Steve Buelow of Hope has announced his intentions to seek the Democratic nomination for state representative, District 28. Buelow is the owner and president of Anderson-Frazier Insurance of Hope, a business founded in 1930 with offices in Hope, Hot Springs and Texarkana.

"I will strive to be a positive influence as I represent the people of District 28," stated Buelow. "All of my experience in business, church, family life, civic duties, economic development and county government have helped me gain effective skills which I plan to utilize for the benefit of the voters."

He is married to Donna Rowe Buelow, daughter of J.W. and Janis Rowe. The Buelows have three children: Erin (13), Meredith (12), and Ashly (9). They are members of First Baptist Church where he serves as deacon and teacher of the senior high boys Sunday school class. He is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University with a degree in business administration.

Buelow is currenlty serving as chairman of the Hope-Hempstead County Eocnomic Development Corporation and is a member of the Hempstead County Quorum Court in which he chairs the finance/budget committee.

His extensive history of community involvement includes past service as president of the Kiwanis Club in which he received the Kiwanis Distinguished Presidents Award, president of the Hempstead County United Way, in which he also served as campaign chairman, and president of the Hope-Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce.

With my proven experience in government budgeting, business management, attracting good-paying jobs to Hempstead County, and active leadership in church and civic organizations, I want to be your state representative while addressing the concerns of all our families in this district."
