Facility Gleans $52,142 In December

Total collections for the Nevada County Hospital for December were $52,149.89, while total expenses were $23,048.39.

The collections came in as follows, $41,711.85 in receipts and $10,431.0 from suspended Medicare payments.

There were also $30,477.88 in disbursements for the month as well.

The expenses break down as follows: facilities expenses, including pest control, maintenance contract, pager, Prescott Water and facility insurance totalling $7,993.56;

Business office expenses, including telephone and computer phone lines, postage and postage machine rental, computer software support, patients accounts expenses, office supplies and copies, accounting and collections contract for five weeks, data processing payroll, payroll taxes and IBM computer maintenance agreement adding up to $7,461.02;

Administrative expense show a five week management contract for $1,800;

In medical records, the payroll was $250, with payroll taxes totalling 19.13 for a total of $269.13; and

Other areas, including cost report preparation and interest expense came to $5,524.68, thereby bringing the December monthly expenses to $23,048.39.

A list of the facility's assets shows cash of $20,844.61, gross accounts receivables, which do not reflect allowances for contractual adjustments and bad debts, for $4,148,931.31, due from Medicare $49,389.77, and prepaid expenses of $336.77.

The liabilities show notes payable for $15,323.18, accounts payable in the amount of $421,197.68, accrued compensation of $281.39. contingent liability to Medicaid of $459,681 and money owed to Medicaid in the amount of $76,711.
