Hutcherson Runs For TreasurerPublished Wednesday, February 14, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesJudy Beth Hutcherson has announced that she will seek the position of Clark County Treasurer in the Democrat Primary. She is an Arkadelphia native with over 20 years bookkeeping experience. Hutcherson served as city clerk-treasurer for the city of Arkadelphia for 8 years, where she was responsible for investments and finacial management of the city's funds. During that time, she served as secretary-treasurer and vice president of the Arkansas City Clerks, Treasurers and Recorders Association. She has been an employee of Clark County for the past 1 1/2 years. Hutcherson has also served as secretary on the board of the Clark County Industrial Council, a member of the Clark County Equalization Board, vice president of the Gurdon Rotary Club, board member of the Clark County Red Cross and Blood Drive Chairman for Gurdon, and was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve for 6 years. She is married to Elven Hutcherson, and they have 4 children: Shari Currey, a Clark County employee, Michael Saunders, an Arkansas State Bank Examiner, Dena Jones, a housewife, and Leia Hutcherson, a student; she and her husband have four grandchildren. They have lived in Gurdon for the past 15 years, and now reside in Arkadelphia. "I would like the opportunity to serve Clark County as your treasurer, giving you my committment and dedication to this office, she said. "I feel my experience and background have qualified me for seeking this position, and, if elected, I promise to give this job my honesty, energy and enthusiasm.
