Oak GroveLula Q. KendrickPublished Wednesday, July 7, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune Revival meeting was held at Mt. Vernon AME Church last week. They really did have a good one. The evangelist was Rev. T.W. Scott, pastor of St. Luke AME Church in Pine Bluff. Unity AME Church in Magnolia with Rev. James H. Giles as pastor. Annual men's day was held June 27 with special guests Rev. Leslie Banks and the Young Circuit, Rosston. We really did have a good time. Our pastor really did preach good. Our annual homecoming will be the second Sunday in July at Bethel AME Church in Rosston. Ward Chapel AME Church will be our guest that afternoon. Rev. Coulter is the pastor. That Monday night our revival will begin. Evangelist for the week will be Rev. Wallace Ingram, pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church in Sparkman. All churches are invited. Guests in our home Friday were Troy and Carolyn Young from Illinois. We were glad to see them. Gerthie Lee Ingram has been very sick. He has been in the hospital in Texarkana, but he is at home now. Stella Mae Warren's funeral was Monday, June 28, at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Willisville with J.W. McCraw officiating. Eunice Cole of Prescott is not doing good at all.
