BoughtonMrs. Willie HooksPublished Wednesday, July 7, 1999 in the Nevada County Picayune Roy Brown remains seriously ill in intensive care at Wadley Hospital in Texarkana. His daughter, Johnnie Jo Brown, of Houston spent a few days to be with him. His grandson, Bubba Stewart, and all his family are here also. His wife, Syble, and son, James Ray, and Judge Allen visit him every day. We extend our sympathy to the family of Dorothy (Gierth) Wilson over her death. Also to the family of Essie Page. She died Friday and was buried at Piney Grove Cemetery Sunday afternoon. Annie Mae Hooks and Gary and Gaywin Golden, Gi Gi and Grant of Murfreesboro attended the first birthday party for Paige Copeland June 27 at Ashdown. Paige is Annie Mae's great granddaughter. James and Virginia Buie of Foreman accompanied his mother, Helen Buie, of Ashdown Nursing Home to visit her sister, Louise Crayne, one day last week. Other visitors were her sisters, Ruth Newth and Faye House, and husband, Lenord. They all enjoyed being together. Boughton church called Bro. Billy Christopher as their pastor Sunday, July 4. Charlotte McArtie and family of Gurdon and Margie Haynie and family of Fort Smith enjoyed a cookout with their dad, Dickie Johnson, and grandmother, Mildred Johnson, Saturday night. Everett and Mary Orren and Johnson and Ann McGuirt attended the 62nd wedding anniversary of Glendale and Opal Brown of Benton Saturday night. Willie and I visited Mary Ann and J.D. Lucas Sunday afternoon. Other visitors were Theresa Grifford and daughter Denise. Agatha and Lyndon Cowart of Idable, Okla., spent one night last week with Annie Mae Hooks. I would like to correct a mistake I made in last week's news. Kristi Mills is the granddaughter of Fate House instead of his daughter. We are so sorry to hear Lucy Heath isn't feeling well. She has several doctor appointments this week. Jim and Wanda Long, their daughter, Lisa, and her children, their foster son and family, Beth and David Anderson, and sons, Yancy and friend Shelly, Clint and Amanda Cummings, their daughter, Amy Johnson, and son, Charlie Lawrence, and family enjoyed a picnic lunch at Suckles Lake Sunday, July 4.
