Statewide Youth Program To Be Examined By Jaycees

Published Wednesday, February 21, 1996 in the Gurdon Times

Kenneth Harper of Gurdon has been selected to head up the committee to develop a pee wee athletic program for the state of Arkansas. This will be a statewide project of the Jaycees. Harper is president of the South Clark County Jaycees of Gurdon.

The project will plan and implement districts, regions and state pee wee competitions.

Many schools and communities already have pee wee programs set up.

The project is not to replace any pee wee program that is in existance in any town or city, a newsletter of the Gurdon club said, but is intended to incorporate the two, with the benefit that every child gets the opportunity to compete with other individuals in the same category and rewarded by competing for the pee wee championships.

This program will include the NFL's Punt Pass and Kick competitions.

If you are interested in activities for the youth call Harper at 353-4024.
