Addington Joins HSU WorkforcePublished Wednesday, February 21, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesDr. Ron Addington of Arkadelphia has joined the faculty in the communication and theater arts department at Henderson State Unviersity during the 1996 spring semester, according to Dr. Randy Duncan, department chairman. Dr. Addington will be instructing oral communication classes on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at HSU. He will also be instructing oral communiucations at Ouachita Techncial College in Malvern. Addington has taught oral communications, radio and television and journalism at Texarkana College and at Indiana University. During a three-year tour of active duty with the U.S. Army, he taught the same courses for the Department of Defense Public Information School at Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana. He also has public school teaching experience. Dr. Addington served as director of public relations at Henderson State University in the mid-70s. He was appointed director of Cossatot Technical School in DeQueen in 1980 and served in that position for four years before going into private business. Addington graduated from Henderson State University in 1968 with a degree in speech and journalism. He has a masters from Indiana University and a doctorate from the University of Arkansas. During the past ten years, Addington has been in private business in Arkadelphia and during this same period of time he has taught several years as a part-time faculty member in the education department at Henderson.
