Honor Society Inducts StudentsPublished Wednesday, February 28, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesTuesday, February 13, marked the induction date for the new members of the Gurdon High School chapter of the National Honor Society. Those tapped for membership from the senior class are John Anderson, Jared Smith, Phillip Porcelli, Jennifer Guthrie, Lori Hathcoat, Brian McGalliard, Jimmy Don Thomas, Shea Wetherington, Quincy Charles and Shanna Wells. Students selected from the junior class are Terri Brown, Kadre Clark and Melanie Wilson. Members of the sophomore class inducted into the society were Kara Thomas, Mark Crawley, Rusty Freeman and Stacey Mosley. Phillip Porcelli was elected president of the society for the 1995-96 school year. The election for officers was held by the organization Thursday, February 15. Others elected were Quincy Charles, vice president; Shanna Wells, secretary; Lori Hathcoat, treasurer; Jennifer Guthrie, reporter; and Jared Smith, historian. The official induction for the organization will be announced at a later date. Membership for the National Honor Society is based on grade point, student character and leadership.
