For Nevada County Citizen Of The Year

Published Wednesday, March 6, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

A highlight of the Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce each year is the announcement of the Citizen of the Year award. This is an honor bestowed upon Nevada County's most worthy citizens as each has been recognized through the years.

Once again it is time to nominate and select another Citizen of the Year. The Chamber encourages Nevada citizens to nominate that individual whom you admire, respect and feel should be honored and recognized.

The rules for nominating and selecting the Citizen of the Year are:

  • any Nevada County resident may submit a nomination;
  • the nominee must be a resident of Nevada County; and
  • nominations and the reasons for nomination must be submitted in writing.

A selection committee will judge the nominations according to the following criteria: outstanding service to family, city, county, state, national affairs, church related, fraternal, recreational and industrial and education oriented services.

The selection committee will judge on the content of the nomination letters submitted, rather than the number of letters or number of signatures.

The deadline for receipt of the nominations will be announced at a later date following the selection of a date for the banquet. Send nominations to: Citizen of the Year, Chamber of Commerce, P.O. Box 391, Prescott, AR 71857.
