Gurdon Handbell Choir In FestivalPublished Wednesday, March 6, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesThe Gurdon First United Methodist Church ladies' handbell choir took part in the Arkansas State Handbell Festival held in Little Rock on February 24. The group spent the day practicing with some 35 handbell choirs from across the state. The festival concluded with a concert for the public in the afternoon. Members of the local choir include Sandra Blanton, Lena Simpson, Martha Thomas, Judy Sanders, LaDawne Simpson, Jennifer Gates, Edna Jordan, Warrie Hughes, Patricia Childers, Judy Hittenrauch, Elizabeth Wilson and Jerry Childers, director.
