Gurdon Lake Winners Are AnnouncedPublished Wednesday, July 7, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesAshley Dixon of Arkadelphia was named 1999 Miss Gurdon Lake. She is the daughter of Phyllis and Artis Dixon. Dixon was crowned by 1998 Miss Gurdon Lake, Kendall Hannah. Katrina Lacy, daughter of Tina and Johnny Lacy of Gurdon, was first runner-up and Latrina Beasley of Gurdon, daughter of Steven Livingston and Debra Beasley was second runner-up. The title winner for Junior Miss Gurdon Lake was Shameka Patterson, daughter of Tony Patterson and granddaughter of William and Jeanine Bland. The first runner-up was Crystal R. Coleman of Arkadelphia, daughter of David and Lucille Coleman. The second runner-up was Toccura Laster, daughter of Opal Laster. In the pre-teen division, Nikima Tinch of Arkadelphia, daughter of Denise Tinch and Patrick Gill, was the winner. First runner-up was Bridgett Laster, daughter of Opal Laster. The second runner-up was Felicia McPeak, daughter of Teresa Peters. The Tiny Miss Gurdon Lake winner was Shakieda Janae Grice of Arkadelphia, daughter of Shellie Grice. First runner-up was Archantae Marie Grice of Arkadelphia. The second runner-up was her sister, Arneshia Lamques Grice. Both are the daughters of Shellie Grice. Winner in the infant division was Myesha Brown of Arkadelphia. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Brown. First runner-up was Ta`Nell Barton of Okolona, daughter of Connie Horton. The second runner-up was Kimberly Green, daughter of Carlas Green and Calvin Brown. Escorts for the pageant were Derek Anderson, Brannon Hatley, Landon Bell and Uthel Gatlin. The emcee was Vikita Bell Hardwrick. Judges for the event were Vicki Eason, Yvonne Thomas, Dr. Kenneth Harris, Herman Thomas and Sam Hardwrick. Monica Hatley was chairperson for the pageant and Vinita Giles was co-chairperson. Special entertainment was provided by the internationally acclaimed Marching Cobras of Kansas City, Mo., with Willie Arthur Smith, founder and drillmaster. Also performing at the pageant were Mt. Canaan Baptist Church Praise Team, Brannon Hatley, James Giles Jr. and the CCYDC Dancers, 1996 Miss Gurdon Lake Monica Hatley, Rev. Quinton Radford, Quincy Charles, 1997 Miss Gurdon Lake, Jennifer Coleman and 1998 Miss Gurdon Lake Kendall Hannah. Committee chairpersons were Edna Hatley, decorations; Delores Hodge, talent; Rose Crow, souvenir books; Charles Cooper, talliers; Elnora Gatlin, stage and rehearsals manager; Rosie McCray, refreshments; Monica Hatley, choreographers; Charles Anderson, door workers; Yvette Anderson, accessories, trophies and awards; and Floreda Briscoe, accountant.
