Head Start Sponsoring Basketball Tournament

On Saturday, April 13, Arkadelphia Head Start will sponsor the Arkadelphia Head Start 3-on-3 basketball tournament (double elimination) in conjunction with the 1996 Festival of Two Rivers.

Also, a family free throw shooting contest will take place during the tournament. Both events will be located at the First Baptist Church parking lot at the corner of Seventh and Pine Streets in Arkadelphia.

The tournament will start at 8:30 a.m. and the free throw shooting contest will begin at 10:00 a.m.

Age divisions for both males and females will include 10- to 12-year-olds; 13- to 15-year-olds, 16- to 18-year-olds (high school), 19- 29-year-olds (open division), and 30 and over, men only.

Each team will consist of four players. Each player will receive a t-shirt and will be eligible to win door prizes. Trophies will be awarded to the champions of each division.

The entry fee for the tournament is $40. The entry fee must be turned in with an entry form by March 26.

The ages for the family free throw shooting contest are kids ages 2-9 and mothers and fathers of any age. The entry fee is $5 per person or $10 per family.
