County Employees Land 3% Pay Raise

Published Wednesday, March 13, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

Nevada County employees will find a little more in their paychecks after members of the Quorum Court doled out 3% pay raises.

In addition to the raise, four employees -- all second deputies in the courthouse, received a $677 pay raise during the regular meeting of the court Monday night.

Raises are going tocost the county $22,121, but, as County Judge John William Barham said, the raises were needed.

Barham told JPs he had lost six employees in the road and bridge department and four in the solid waste department just since the first of the year.

He said the road and bridge employees included two mechanics, a road grader and truck drivers.
