Hee Haw is Set For April 20

Hee Haw, local stage production, and Cancer Crusade are scheduled for April in Nevada County, according to plans made Thursday at the American Cancer Society board meeting. Phyllis Stewart, president, presided at the meeting at First Methodist Church.

Patsy Womble, Hee Haw chairman, announced the show will be given April 20, in the Prescott High School auditorium at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available from any board member and at the door. Advance tickets are $4 for adults, $2 for children, or $5 at the door.

Lenora Dalrymple said the Cancer Crusade will be held April 13-20. Volunteers will visit Nevada County homes to distribute cancer information and collect contributions. She also announced the annual golf tournament at Prescott Country Club for August 10 and that cookbooks are still available.

Joan Barton, patient service chairman, told of a pizza party to inform local nursing staffs of cancer information availalbe. She has distributed brochures as well as wigs to cancer patients here.

Pam Teague has reached 91 percent of the society goal in youth education and continues in adult education. Reach to Recovery made one visit, according to Scootie Delamar.

Fern Quattlebaum, director of planned giving, spoke on the value of all moneys to ACS, large and small, from wills, memorials, gifts and annual canvas. She may be reached for further information in Little Rock at 1- 800-227-2345.
