o Arkansas shippers needs than a company in the northeast."

State Representative Percy Malone, who recently stepped down as CCIC president, said he received a video from the president of Burlinton-Santa Fe stating the company plans to compete in this region.

However, he said UP has already helped the CCIC with prospects, and may be willing to provide a rail spur to the Clark County Industrial Park. This, Malone continued, would further enhance the park and area in its effort to attract new business and industry.

In other news, Mark Moffitt, executive director of the CCIC, said four committees will soon be formed. These committees will be media, membership, existing industry and industrial prospects.

CCIC President Brown Hardman said the membership may want to consider changing meeting times to 4:30 p.m. instead of the current 7:30 a.m.

He said there was more participation when the meetings were held in the afternoons.

Hardman said it is hoped in future meetings speakers from the county's business and industrial base will come to the CCIC to keep members apprised of what they are doing.
