Wolves Win Final Meet Before HolidayPublished Wednesday, March 27, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe weather was more reminescent of the AA football finals, but the Wolves didn't let it bother them as they won the inaugural Prescott Relays. "The cold air and stiff wind we experienced last week is certainly not good for sprinters," coach Eddie Jackson said, "but the meet could not be cancelled, and in spite of the weather it turned out to be a good competitive meet". The Wolves were able to establish a few meet records by winning some events. These, along with other scoring performances are listed below. 100 meter dash: -- C.D. Flemons, second place; and Al Johnston, third place. 200-meter dash: -- R. Johnson, fourth place; and M. Montgomery, fifth place. 400-meter run: -- Jason Morrow, first place; and L. Toliver, sixth place. 800-meter run: -- C. Haynie, sixth place. 120 hurdles: -- C. Butler, first place; and R. Johnson, fourth place. 300 hurdles: -- C. Butler, first place; and C.D. Flemons, third place. 4x100-meter relays: -- M. Montgomery, A. Johnston, C. Vanhook and B. Jones, second place. 4x100-meter Honey Bun Big Man relays: -- B. Vanhook, C. Vanhook, K. Johnson and T. Burton, first place. 4x200-meter relay: -- J. Cornelius, C. Butler, R. Johnson and C.D. Flemons, first place. 4x400-meter relays: -- J. Cornelius, C.D. Flemons, R. Johnson and C. Butler, first place; and JV squad, B. Jones, J. Morrow, S. Marlow and Brent Jordan, third place. 4x800-meter relays: -- J. Cornelius, C.D. Flemons, Jason Morrow and Channing Butler, first place.
