hrown at first, which allowed Duece to score. Farren struck out to end the inning.

Three batters went up in Prescott's seventh, and all three returned to the dugout. Jones on strikes, Montgomery by on a fly ball and Rockett on a grounder as THS won 2-0.

However, in the consolation bracket finals, the Wolves took out their frustration on New Boston, Texas' junior varsity squad as they thrashed the Texicans 20-1.

Yates earned the win in his third start of the week. He went five innings, faced 17, fanned five, walked no one, gave up one hit and one run.

He lost his bid for a perfect game with two down in the top of the fourth.

In the contest, Yates faced the minimum number of batters for five frames, with the exception of one hit and a fielding error.

Yates was on fire in the first as he fanned the first two batters. The third grounded out.

The Wolves bats heated up immediately as Prescott scored five in the bottom of the inning.

Yates aided his cause with a game opening single. Tucker Baker pinch ran for Yates, and was forced at second when Stockton hit into a fielder's choice.

The bags were packed when Jones and Montgomery walked. Rockett went down on strikes, before Williams took one out of the park for a grand slam.

From there, Fulks and Cowling walked. Fulks stole second and scored when the catcher winged one into left field. The inning ended with Johnston flying out.

Two ground balls and a fly later, the New Boston team went from offense to defense.

The Wolves added five more to their total in the bottom of the frame to go up 10-0.

Yates, starting the second as well as the first, reached on an error. He was again replaced by Baker on first.

Stockton went down on strikes and Jones walked. Montgomery hit into a fielder's choice, which saw Baker caught at third.

Then the offensive rains began to fall in torrents.

With two down, Rockett singled Jones in. Williams walks to load the bags and Fulks walked, earning an RBI when Jones scored.

Cowling benefited on a gift RBI as he walked Rockett in.

Williams scored on a pick-off attempt which saw the ball get away.

Johnston followed this fiasco with a double, driving Fulks in. Yates walked but Stockton grounded out to end the assault.

Three batters later, the Wolves were back in business on the offensive end of the game.

In the bottom of the third, the Prescott brigade sent six more around the horn.

Jones singled and Montgomery walked to put runners at first and second. Rockett and Williams both flied out.

The two-out rally started again at this point. Fulks singled in Jones and Montgomery.

Cowling walked. Johnston followed with a triple to score Fulks and Cowling.

Yates, still helping himself, ripped a four-bagger to clear the bases.

Stockton walked to keep the inning alive, but Jones was fanned to end the devastation.

Yates put the first two batters down in order in the top of the fourth. However, the third man up doubled and Cowley reached on an error, which scored Banks and spoiled the shutout. Conway flied out to end the inning.

The Wolves got even by scoring four more in their last at-bats, as the game was called after New Boston's fifth ended because of the 10-run rule.

Montgomery went down on a fly ball. Rockett and Baker walked. Fulks singled the pair in. Cowling flied out before Johnston hit his first homer of the year to clear the bases.

Yates walked, and the inning ended with Stockton flying out.

Upset with losing the no-hitter and perfect game, Yates sent the next three down in order with two grounders and a K.

The Wolves are now 6-2 on the season.

There will be no baseball this week as Prescott schools are out on Spring Break.

However, the Wolves will return to the diamond in April with a trio of home games on tap.

On April Fool's day, the Wolves are scheduled to host the Nevada Blue Jays at p.m.

They have an April 3 date with Gurdon at the Johnson Complex at 4 p.m., and are slated to finish the week April 5 as hosts to the Redbugs of Fordyce at 4 p.m. as well.
