Bike-A-Thon Set For Sat., April 27 At PMSPublished Wednesday, March 27, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneThis year's local St. Jude's Bike-A-Thon will be held at Prescott Middle School Saturday, April 27, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Everyone who rides will get a certificate. If you raise $35 you receive a t-shirt and for $75 participants receive a t-shirt and sports bag. With each donation it could mean a longer life for someone else. Participants and volunteers are really needed to make this possible, along with sponsors. Sponsor sheets to ride in the Bike-A-Thon can be picked up through different areas around town, or by calling the above numbers. Danny Thomas founded St. Jude's in 1962. Since then, the hospital has treated more than 13,000 children at no cost to the families. The cost for treatments and to conduct research is more than $100 million per year.
