Alton Armstrong

Alton Armstrong, 91, of Prescott died Friday, March 29, 1996, at St. Michael Health Care Center in Texarkana, Texas.

Born February 19, 1905, in Hempstead County, he was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Queen Smith Armstrong, and one son, Alton Armstrong Jr.

Survivors include three sons, Everett Armstrong of Milwaukee, Wisc., Elvin Armstrong of Los Angeles, Calif., and David Willis Armstrong of Nashville; six daughters, Edith Maxine Foulks of Amarillo, Texas, Norma Woodberry of Flint, Mich., and Iola Armstrong, Anne Franks, Myrtle Jones and Wilma Faye Achan all of Hope; 42 grandchildren; 68 great grandchildren; and seven great great grandchildren.

Services will be Thursday, April 4, at St. John Baptist Church, north of Hope with Rev. Raymond Cage officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.
