Karen Ward Seeks Position On City CouncilPublished Wednesday, April 3, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneKaren Ward announces her candidacy for City Councilman, Ward Three. Ward is a 1971 graduate of Prescoott High School, and earned a BS degree in medical technology from University of Arkansas in 1975. She received an Arkansas teaching certificate in secondary education, and is a licensed nursing home administrator. She is currently seeking a masters degree in health services management from Webster University in Little Rock. "My platform will be a focused effort to establish 24-hour emergency services for our citizens. I hope to be instrumental in securing this much needed service. I am hopeful that my efforts to negotiate for these services will prove successful in the near future," she said. "I am married to Ned Ward and have three little Curley Wolves, Jessie, 15, Casey, 11, and Chelsie age six. We are a family concerned about the issues facing our town. I pledge to serve the citizens to the best of my ability by attending all meetings, prepared and informed. I will communicate with my constituents regularly to solicit their input. And finally, I will carefully analyze the many aspects of an issue prior to placing my vote. "I would consiser it a great privilege and honor to be elected city Councilman, Ward Three.
