Teams Picked For Gurdon's Little League

Published Wednesday, April 10, 1996 in the Gurdon Times

Teams have been picked, and things are well underway for the 1996 baseball season in Gurdon.

The Booster Club is sponsoring a new fundraising campaign this year which will involve every player on every team.

Beginning this week, all youths involved in the baseball program will be selling items from Fun for All snack foods and sports mugs.

If each player will sell at least 10 items, this will ensure a complete success for the fundraising campaign, according to Gary Plyer, who is overseeing the project. "We want to encourage everyone to help support our ball program by placing an order when contacted by our ball players," he encouraged.

The top sellers will be rewarded in the following ways:

  1. The top seller in each age group will win $25;
  2. The team selling the most overall will win $100;
  3. Each team averaging 14 items for each player will win $25 for that team; and
  4. A T-shirt will be given to every player who sells at least 14 items.

    For further information, contact Plyler at 353-4466 or 353-6107.
