Mary Fithen To Serve On CommitteePublished Wednesday, April 10, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesMary Fithen of Prescott, a registered nurse practicioner at the Mercy Medical Center in Gurdon, has been selected to serve as chairperson of the board of nursing's prescriptive authority advisory committee. Fithen, who has been a registered nurse since 1976 and achieved her registered nurse practioner status in 1981, was notified of her appointment to the committee by Governor Jim Guy Tucker. In a letter issued, Governor Tucker stated, "I know you will do a magnificent job in this capacity and I appreciate your willingness to accept this responsibility." According to the new law, the board of nursing is charged with appointing the first chairperson. Faith A.
