Allen Attending Youth SeminarPublished Wednesday, April 10, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneTamla Allen has been selected to attend the Hugh O'Brian Youth (HOBY) Foundation Arkansas South Seminar. She will join more than 150 other young leaders representing as many high schools from throughout Arkansas. The seminar will be held at the Airport Holiday Inn in Little Rock April 19, 20 and 21. Allen, a sophomore at Nevada High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby L. Allen. She was chosen based upon her demonstrated leadership and potential for continued leadership growth. HOBY Leadership Seminars bring together a select group of high school sophomores with groups of distinguished leaders in business, government, education and the professions to discuss present and future issues. The goal is to provide the youths with a stimulating forum for learning about the American incentive system and democratic process while broadening their understanding of their leadership and quest for self-development. The Hugh O-Brian Youth Foundation was established by the popular actor Hugh O'Brian following a visit to Africa where he was inspired by a meeting with Dr. Albert Schweitzer.
