Free Services Day Provided For CountiansPublished Wednesday, April 10, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneSouthwest Arkansas Development Council (SWADC) will host free services day throughout Nevada County on Wednesday or Friday beginning April 10. This will go on for several weeks. A SWADC Home Health registered nurse will be on hand to provide free health screening, blood pressure checks and answer questions you may have about home health services. The Literacy Outreach worker will be there to provide free reading evaluations or discuss the many rewards of volunteering to tutor adults. Information about senior citizen transportation, medical van transportation, meals and activities at the Senior Citizens Center, HEAP (the home energy assistance program), single parent program, HIPPY and head start and more will be avaialble. SWADC is a private non-profit community action agency serving southwest Arkansas. Call 887-5536 or 887-5171 for more information. Here is the schedule: Wednesday, April 10 -- 9:00 to 9:30 a.m., Laneburg, New Salem Methodist Church, Highway 371; Friday, April 12 -- 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Rosston, Waterloo and Oakgrove, Rosston City Hall; Wednesday, April 17 -- 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Cale and Caney area, Community Center in Cale; Friday, April 19 -- 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Bodcaw at the Community Center; Wednesday, April 24 -- 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Willisville at Willisville City Hall; Friday, April 26 -- 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Falcon, Country Store; Friday, May 3 -- 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Emmet: Emmet City Hall; and Wednesday, June 12 -- 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Bluff City and Reeder at White Oak Lake State Park.
