4-H NewsPublished Wednesday, July 14, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesClark County Extension Service Are you interested in giving your children every opportunity to grow and develop? We believe that belonging to a 4-H club will help youth acquire essential life skills through planned "learn by doing" experiences and that it will promote and develop leadership and civic- mindedness in young people. 4-H is community based and family oriented. Therefore, we believe 4-H clubs will help build a better community. 4-H is one of the educational programs of the Cooperative Extension Service, University of Arkansas and is open to all youth. The regular 4-H program is for youth ages 9-19 years old, and there is a special 4-H Cloverbud's program for youth ages 5-8 years old. If you would like to become a member of 4-H or be a Cloverbud, contact one of the adult club leaders below to find out where the next meeting nearest you will be held: 4-Leaf Clover, Marilyn May, 246-7354, Arkadelphia, first Thursday; Hilltop, Vickie Lynn, 274-3463, Gurdon, second Monday; Shining Stars, Pam Thomason, 246-6406, Arkadelphia, third Monday; Leau Frais, Marsha and Johnny Haltom, 366-4396, Manchester, first Tuesday; and Terre Noire, Kathryn Burchfield, 274-3214, Gurdon, first Monday.
