Ben Parmer

Ben Parmer, 83, of Emmet died Friday, April 12, 1996, in the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock.

Born April 18, 1922, in Emmet, he was a retired self-employed mechanic, a veteran of World War II and a member of Southside Baptist Church in Hope.

Survivors include his wife, Ovie Parmer of Emmet; three sons, Henry Parmer of Hope, Herbert Parmer of Bodcaw and Joe Stephens of Emmet; two daughters, Gwen D. Hill of Carthage, Texas, and Onie Morris of Nashville; three brothers, Sam Parmer and Joey Parmer of Emmet and Earl Parmer of Nashville; four sisters, Elizabeth Plumley of Hope, Darlene Parmer of Texarkana, Texas, Eula Virden of Alexandria, La., and Annie Mae Parmer of Hope; 15 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Services were held Sunday, April 14, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home in Hope with Rev. Charles Jones officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery in Hope under the direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home.
