Nona Avery

Nona McDonald Avery, 91, of Pisgah community near Delight died Monday, April 8, 1996, at Prescott Nursing Center.

Born December 13, 1904, in Smackover, she was the daughter of the late James Sidney and Nettie Claudia Holloway Freeland. She was a factory worker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Collie Eugene McDonald and Dudley J. Avery and two sons, Eugene E. McDonald and Collie Eugene McDonald Jr.

Survivors include three sons, James McDonald of Liberty, Texas, Joe McDonald of Prescott and Allen McDonald of Brown Springs; three daughters, Irene Slater of Martinez, Calif., Lorene Avery of Texarkana, Texas, and Nona Jean Pierce of Liberty, Texas; one brother, James Ira Freeland of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday, April 10, at Murry-Ruggles Funerla Home chapel with Bro. J.C. James officiating. Burial was in Richland Cemetery under the direction of Murry-Ruggles Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.
