Jr. Girls Are Runners-Up At Host MeetPublished Wednesday, April 17, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Prescott junior girls track team was runner-up at the 23rd annual Cubs and Cubettes Relays. Seventeen schools competed at the meet. Karmon Scott was first in the long jump with a season's best leap of 15 feet and one inch. Prescott's 3200-meter relay and 1600-meter relay teams took home the championship trophy in both relays. The 3200-meter relay team of Staci Stockton, Traci Graham, Lindsay Powell and Lakeshia Martin ran a 11.23.25 for the win. The 1600-meter relay team kept a 100-meter lead for first place. The athletes on this relay team are Staci Stockton, Traci Graham, Nicole Martin and Laskeshia Martin. Stockton also won the 1600-meter run with a season's best of 6.16. This is one of the state's best time in the event for junior girls. Lakeshia Martin was second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:41.43. Final results of the meet are as follows: first place, Nashville with 74 points; second place, Prescott with 60 points; third place, De Queen with 58 points; fourth place, Hope with 56 points; and Emerson and Genoa tied with 46 points each for fifth place.
