PHS Baseball Team Defeats Dragons (cont)

Cowling walked and was replaced by Johnston. Webb reached on an error, which moved Johnston to third.

Johnston attempted to go home on a wild pitch, but was tagged out at the plate. Cornelius was fanned to end the threat.

Yates took over on the hill and was unable to hold the Jackets in check.

Cearely singled and stole second. He went to third on a wild throw by the catcher.

Martin went down on strikes, before Ervin and Sanders walked to load the bases. Dunbar hit into a fielder's choice, bringing Cearely home.

Sims belted a single, driving Ervin in. Meeler's single brought Sanders in.

Johnson reached on an error and Dunbar scored. Meeler was forced at second and Guilbeau grounded out, but not before Stamps took an 8-4 lead.

The Wolves had one final offensive chance, but went down in order in the top of the seventh.

The Wolves also fell to Stamps in jv action 4-1.

Stockton was the only Wolf to get a hit and score.

The Wolves will entertain Nashville Friday in a 3:30 p.m. game.

James Johnson Sport Complex will also be the site of a game between Prescott and DeQueen Monday, April 22. This game has a 4 p.m. start time.

On Wednesday, April 24, the Wolves host Fordyce in a makeup game from April 5, which was rained out. Start time is set for 3:30 p.m.

On Saturday, April 27, the Wolves will start the District Tournament in DeQueen.
