Accompanying these students from PMS were Judy McCauley and Jamye Barnes. The fifth graders and their teachers went to see a stage production of Charlotte's Webb on March 14. This was a presentation of Theatre Works USA, featuring a cast of madcap farm animals exploring bravery, selfless love and true friendship. The performance by professional actors was presented in the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium. Before the play the group enjoyed a picnic lunch at the El Dorado Sports Complex. It was a wonderful place for a picnic. After the play, Barnes gave the group a nice surprise by taking them to the Oil and Brine Museum in Smackover. This was interesting and educational for the group. It had exhibits of many items used in the production of oil. It also had exhibits of antiques connected with the oil industry such as drills, trucks, cars, signs and many intersting pictures. Everyone had a good time and appreciated the opportunity for such a nice field trip. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
