White Oak Park Sets Flower Walk

White Oak Lake State Park will host a special event, Wildflower Walk in the Sandhills, on May 4.

It will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the park's visitor information center with Dr. Gary Tucker of FTN Associates Limited, leading a morning hike.

Tina Wilcox of the Ozark Folk Center will have a presentation on edible and medicinial plants in the area at 1:00 p.m.

Finishing off the day, Dr. Carl Slaughter, author of Wild Orchids of Arkansas, will discuss the orchids found in south Arkansas at the park pavilion at 2:15 p.m.
