Elementary Registration April 22-24 At PrescottPublished Wednesday, April 17, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneApril 22-26 has been set for registration for children who will attend Prescott Elementary School for the 1996-97 school year. A parent may register the child anytime between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on these days at the shcool. Any child who will be five years of age on or before October 1 of a particular school year must attend kindergarten unless the parent-guardian of the child files a signed kindergarten waiver from the local district administration office. Parents should bring their child's certified birth certificate, social security card or number and a record of immunizations. At the time of registration, the school will make an appointment for you with the local health unit for a comprehensive physical exam for your child. A birth certificate issued by the hospital is not an offical birth certificate. The distirct will allow a child to register for kindergarten without these offical records, but the child will not be admitted to a kindergarten classroom if he or she does not have these records on file in the school office. A summer school enrichment program will be offered to qualifying children for kindergarten. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Children must be registered for kindergarten to be eligible for this summer enrichment program. Children will need to come with parents to kindergarten registration for testing for this program.
