Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, July 14, 1999 in the Gurdon Times The Gurdon Senior Adult Center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and is a United Way Agency. Lloyd Baumgardner sang for the seniors on Wednesday, July 7, and again on Friday, July 9. Some seniors told tall tales. We wish to thank Martha Bearden for the activities she has for the center. Next week we will play bingo. The Music Makers will be singing at the nursing home in Arkadelphia. We will have singing and a trip to the library on Wednesday. The square dancers will perform on Friday, July 16. Come out of the heat and join in the fun. Martha has also been working on crossword puzzles for the many seniors who love them so. There are different activities planned for next week, so look for new details in the Golden Oldies. The center is opened five days a week, so we can enjoy good food and fellowship. It is a blessing for those of us who live alone to have somewhere to go each day also, for the shut-ins who enjoy seeing a smile and a meal delivered to them each day. Some receive their lunches from Ester Thrasher and tell her how they love to see her coming. We'll be looking forward to seeing you soon.
