Three Are From prescott, Rosston And Blevins School DistrictsPublished Wednesday, April 24, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneRicci Farris of Prescott High School, Hagan Barnes of Nevada High School in Rosston and Emilty Sweat of Blevins High School have received academic scholarships from the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) beginning in August. These scholarships are renewable for four years, based on ACT scores and class rank. All three received the University Scholarship for tuition and fees. Farris is daughter of Shay and Doug Farris of Prescott. She is senior class reporter and a member of the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of America, Art Club, Student Council, Key Club and she is a PHS cheerleader. She plans to study medicine. Barnes is the son of Larry and Frances Barnes of Rosston. He is treasurer of the senior class, a member of the Beta Club, Future Business Leaders of America, French Club, Quiz Bowl, Yearbook Club, band Who's Who Among American High School Students, baseball team and Bodcaw Baptist Church and Youth Group and he is Sunday school secretary. He plans to major in business. Sweat is the daughter of David and Amy Sweat of McCaskill. She is president of the Blevins Student Council and the Beta Club, a member of Gifted and Talented Education, Future Farmers of America, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention by Teens, Who's Who Among American High School Students and the basketball and softball teams.
