Winnie Belle Hooker

Winnie Belle Hooker, 71, of Prescott, died Sunday, April 28, 1996, in Prescott.

Born on January 20, 1925, in Nevada County, she was the daughter of Jude and Ida Smith. She was a lifelong resident of Prescott. She was a member of the Prescott Church of Christ and the Eastern Star. As owner and manager of the Broadway Hotel and Cafe, she was well known in the community and enjoyed the friendships that she developed there.

She devoted her later years to her grandchildren and great grandchildren whose pictures she displayed with pride in her restaurant.

Survivors include her husband, Chester Hooker of Prescott; two sons, Jerry Hooker of Prescott and Ronnie Hooker of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Judy Ammons of Prescott and Melinda Faulkner of Prescott; two brothers, Billy Bob Smith and James D. Smith of Prescott; a sister, Eva Lou Stanley of Prescott; eight grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday, April 30, at the Prescott Church of Christ with Bro. Gene Cloer and Bro. John Cannon officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.
