Gerald Clayton HendrixPublished Wednesday, May 1, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneGerald Clayton Hendrix, 63, of Antoine died Wednesday, April 26, 1996, in Antoine. Born September 18, 1932, in Antoine, he attended Harding College and the University of Arkansas. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, served on the Arkansas Soil and Water Conservation Commission for 26 years, was elected to the Arkansas House of Representatives in 1994 and was a member of the Antoine Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Lou Hendrix of Antoine; three sons, David Brian of Antoine, Kent Hendrix of Nashville and Max Hendrix of Arlington, Texas; his parents, the former senator and Mrs. Olen Hendrix of Antoine; a sister, Annette Baldwin of Marshall, Texas; two brothers, James William Hendrix of Antoine and Darwin Hendrix of Antoine; his mother-in-law, Ida Lamb of Waldron; and five grandchildren. Graveside services were held Friday, April 26, in the Antoine Cemetery with Wallace Alexander, Gene Jester and B.B. Harding officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home of Glenwood. Pallbearers were Bill Phillips, Bobby Taylor, Howard Taylor, Gus Wingfield, Russell Barton and Barnell Maddox.
