Two Political Rallies Are This WeekendPublished Wednesday, May 1, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneThe Nevada County Democratic Central Committee will host two of the county's largest political rallies this weekend. According to Davis Benton, committee chairman, Friday, May 3, at 6 p.m., the committee, in conjunction with the Prescott Lions Club, will host a county-wide rally at the Nevada County Courthouse. The Lions Club will provide a concession stand, but will not solicit contributions from the candidates. The committee has invited more than 50 candidates in the state, district, county and local races to participate. On Saturday, May 4, at 3:30 p.m., a similar rally will be held in the Cale City Park for the southern part of the county. Refreshments will be served at no cost to the candidates. Following the speeches, the Double C Extension Homemakers Club will serve a spaghetti supper in the Cale Community Center for a nominal fee.
