Thinclads Headed To State MeetPublished Wednesday, May 1, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesSix members of the Lady Go-Devils track team will be making the trip to Heber Springs Friday, May 4, for the state track meet. Coach Donny Williams is sending Alicia Clayborn, Laketric Allen, April Simpson, Natasha McPeak, Samantha Payne and Latrena Beasley to the event. Clayborn will be competing in the 400 meter relay and the 110 meter hurdles. Allen is a member of the Lady-Devil 400 meter and 800 meter relay squad, as is Simpson. McPeak will be running her leg of the 800 meter relay and will compete in the 300 meter hurdles. Payne is on the 400 meter relay team, while Beasley completes the 800 meter relay squad. Williams said he is proud the girls were able to do what they've done during the track season, in spite of the fact they have no track to practice on.
