Woman Loses Lip In Fight At Dollar StorePublished Wednesday, May 8, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesA court decision led to a stalking which resulted in a fight between two women. The fight ended up with one woman getting a portion of her lip bitten off. According to Gurdon Police reports, about 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, Mattie Stafford had filed charges against Mae Helen Dicken for harassing her child. The two went to city court on the matter, and Dicken was unhappy with the outcome. After court was over, she followed Stafford to Bill's Dollar Store where a verbal altercation quickly led to blows between the women. In the midst of the fight, Dicken either bit off her own lip of Stafford bit it off. Officials were unable to determine how it actually occurred.
