Gertie Lee ButlerPublished Wednesday, May 8, 1996 in the Nevada County PicayuneGertie Lee Fore Butler, 96, of Tyler, Texas, formerly of Nevada County, died Monday, April 29, 1996, at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Tyler. Born September 15, 1899, in Nevada County, she was a member of Union Baptist Church in Bodcaw and a homemaker. She was the widow of Christopher Butler. Survivors include two daughters, Louise Buford of Lawton, Okla., and Patsy Smittle of Gainesville, Fla.; a sister, Vera Whitney of Decatur, Ill., 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and a number of great great grandchildren. Services were held Thursday, May 2, at Union Baptist Church at Bodcaw. Burial was in Union Cemetery under the direction of Herndon Funeral Home of Hope.
