Man Electrocuted Friday

Published Wednesday, May 8, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

A 34-year-old Prescott man was electrocuted Friday morning while working on electricity at his home.

According to Nevada County Sheriff Harold Vines, Robert Cason Jr. was on a ladder around 9 a.m. working around a utility pole.

However, he somehow touched a live power line and was knocked off the ladder into the bed of a Chevy S-10 pickup. Vines said Cason landed face down in the truck, hitting so hard he dented the bed.

He was taken to the Nevada County Sheriff's Office by his brother, who is a member of the Nevada County Rescue Unit. His brother also called the Nevada County Ambulance Service.

Members of the NCAS crew arrived at the NCSO at about the same time Cason did.

Cason was transferred to the ambulance from the truck and taken to Medical Park Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
