Sheriff's Office, Prescott Police Stay Busy This Weekend With

Burglaries; Two Busted For Drugs A number of burglaries and thefts across the county kept the Nevada County Sheriff's Office busy during the weekend.

According to Jim Westmoreland, criminal investigator with the NCSO and Prescott Police Department, sometime Saturday or Sunday, a home on route 5 was broken into.

The suspect(s) gained entry by cutting a screen on an open window. Two rifles were taken in this crime.

A shop behind a house on route 3 was also "hit" about this time. Along with a number of tools, a lawnmower, battery charger, bench grinder, bolt cutters and typewriter were taken.
