Prescott Lions Clubs Are 'Fair Share' Contributors

Published Wednesday, May 15, 1996 in the Nevada County Picayune

The members of the Prescott Lions Club are "fair-share" contributors to the operating budget of Lions World Services for the Blind (LWSB), according to Dowell Maxey of Conway, LWSB's president, with a contribution of $1,120 for a total of $2,370 for 1995-96.

Maxey said the $85 per member exceeds the challenge issued this year by the Arkansas Lions Sight Conservation Committee to the clubs for $50 per member.

LWSB is a project of the Lions Clubs of Arkansas. Contributions from the clubs are used for its day to day operations, providing rehabilitation services for the blind.

Lions utilizes numerous fundraising activities to secure funds for their sight conservation projects.

LWSB, formerly Arkansas Enterprises for the Blind, founded in 1947, is an international, non-profit rehabilitation center helping blind and visually impaired people achieve independence with dignity through personal adjustment training and job training.
