Miles For Meals Deemed Successful By ChairpersonPublished Wednesday, May 15, 1996 in the Gurdon TimesCharlotte Shepherd, director of the Arkadelphia and Gurdon Senior Adult Centers, expressed her appreciation last week to all who helped make the recent Miles for Meals Walk-a-Thon a success. "Your support is vital for this program to continue to provide home delivered meals to the home bound senior citizens in Clark County," Shepherd said. "Our appreciation also goes to Dr. Frank Teed and Rep. Percy Malone for sponsoring this year's Miles for Meals t-shirts," she continued. "Also, thanks to HSU Greek Council for conducting a door-to-door campaign." The walk-a-thon fundraiser for the two centers had numerous volunteers, and many people made monetary contributions and gave other support to those who need the meals on a daily basis, but cannot make it to the centers to eat. There are volunteers from each center who help in getting the meals to those home bound people. Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
